This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of your data when you use our platform. By accessing Wyza or clicking "I agree", you agree to this policy and any updates we may make over time. We encourage regular reviews of this policy to stay informed.
1. Scope and Application
This Policy applies to all visitors, registered users, survey participants, and survey creators on Wyza, to all personal data collected through the website, mobile application, surveys, communications, and related services.
This Policy governs how personal data is handled across Nigeria and, as the Platform expands, other supported jurisdictions including Kenya and Ghana.
2. Eligibility and Age Restriction
Wyza is strictly intended for individuals who are 18 years of age or older.
We do not knowingly collect, solicit, or process personal data from persons under the age of 18. If we become aware that personal data belonging to a minor has been collected, such data will be permanently deleted immediately and without notice.
3. Personal Data We Collect
We collect personal data that is reasonably necessary to operate the Platform, deliver services, and administer surveys.
3.1 Mandatory Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Phone number, name, or email (used for account creation, login, and OTP verification)
- WhatsApp messages where WhatsApp answering is enabled
Account creation is not possible without providing this information.
3.2 Profile and Demographic Information
Depending on survey requirements, we may collect:
- Age or age range
- Gender
- Location (country, state, city, or region)
- Any other demographic or background information required to qualify for a specific survey
Providing this information may be optional or mandatory depending on the survey.
3.3 Survey Response Data
Survey responses may include personal opinions;
- Written/text responses
- Audio recordings
- Video recordings
- Images or files voluntarily submitted
The responses are shared with the survey creator who invited or published the survey. The responses may be processed using AI for transcription, translation, validation, and analysis while raw media files may be stored securely for audit and quality review.
Participation in any survey requiring such data is voluntary. You choose whether to participate.
3.4 Technical and Usage Data
We may automatically collect:
- IP address
- Device type, operating system, and browser
- Log data relating to usage, security, and performance
This data is used strictly for platform security, analytics, and improvement.
3.5 WhatsApp & Messaging Data
If you respond via WhatsApp:
- Messages are processed through approved messaging providers
- Content is captured, structured, and stored securely
- Metadata (timestamps, session markers) may be stored for validation and analytics
4. Legal Basis for Processing

Wyza does not sell personal data to third parties.
6. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We may share personal data only with trusted third-party service providers strictly as necessary to operate the Platform, including:
- Survey creators (only for surveys you respond to)
- Stripe – for payment processing and payouts
- Africa's Talking – for OTP verification and SMS services
- Cloud hosting, analytics, and security service providers
All third-party providers are contractually obligated to:
- Process data securely
- Use data only for authorised purposes
- Comply with applicable data protection laws
We may also disclose personal data where required by law, court order, or regulatory authority. We do not sell personal data to advertisers.

Wyza shall not be liable for any data breach, leak or disclosure which occurs despite reasonable measures being put in place to protect your data. Users acknowledge and accept this inherent risk.

- Withdraw consent at any time
- Request permanent deletion of your personal data

Every user has the unrestricted right to delete their Wyza account at any time and for any reason, without providing justification.
12. How to Request Account Deletion
Users may request account deletion by:
- Using the "Delete Account" feature within their account settings, or
- Contacting Wyza Poll Team at support@wyza.ai
13. What Account Deletion Means
Once a deletion request is submitted and processed:
- The user account is permanently deactivated;
- The user loses all access to the Platform;
- All rewards, credits, and pending earnings are forfeited;
- The account cannot be recovered;
- Personal data associated with the account is permanently deleted.
Account deletion is irreversible.
14. No Retention of Personal Data
After deletion is completed:
- Personal data is not stored
- Personal data is not archived
- Personal data is not sold, reused, or shared
- The user's identity is fully removed from active systems
Only anonymized, non-identifiable statistical data (e.g., aggregate survey metrics) may be retained where legally permitted.
15. Timeline for Deletion
Deletion requests are processed within 24 hours. Users will receive confirmation once deletion has been completed.
16. Legal and Regulatory Exceptions
In limited circumstances, Wyza may retain minimal data where required by law or regulatory obligation and necessary to resolve disputes or enforce legal rights. Any such retained data will be securely stored and deleted once no longer legally required.
